Detroit Wedding Photographer: Esession: Tony & Carrie!

Dear blog world…meet the adorable Tony & Carrie! We had so much fun running around Detroit during their engagement shoot…seeing the true dynamics of the city…the swanky, glamorous Renaissance Center and then driving just a short way down the road to the grungy, textured, a little bit hood area:) Both equally beautiful of course! These guys will be getting married this May. I’m really looking forward to their wedding AND getting to hear Tony’s band play at the reception:)Enjoy your Sunday!

And may all your Christmases be white…. :)

This year has been a crazy one for me….last Christmas Jason and I were praying about the teenagers we were planning to welcome to our family and dreaming of what life with them would be like. Now a year later we will be celebrating our first Christmas as a family. Our 2 boys have taught us so much about being thankful for the simple things in life and not taking advantage of the country that we live in.

I also am so thankful to my brides who have been so gracious and amazing to work with this year! May you all enjoy your first holiday as a couple:)

Here is the card I sent out to all my gorgeous 2010 couples:) You made my year amazing…thank you!!

And of course…my beautiful, non-traditional amazing little family:)

I hope everyone has an amazing holiday!!

Lansing Engagement Photography: Marty & Elaina!

OK…being behind on blogging is not good…but I have to admit looking at pictures from the beautiful summer while sitting in my office wrapped in a blanket freezing does make me smile! We are teaching our 2 teenagers from Africa how to survive their first Michigan winter…it has been interesting so far!

Marty & Elaina are gracing my blog today. Elaina found me through Dee Mitchell of Elegant Elegance who is her familie’s neighbor and one of my favorite florists/event planners around! We met up in East Lansing for their engagement shoot where both Elaina and Marty both attended MSU:) I love shooting on college campuses…#1 they are filled with gorgeous, ivy covered buildings as far as the eye can see and #2 because they hold so much history. By history I mean huge glorious old buildings that have stood for what seems forever and also the history of the couple. As Marty & Elaina drove me around campus they were filled with stories about their freshman dorms, all the traditions that college students have on campus and even the buildings where Marty is currently studying. Engagement shoots are such a great time for us to get to know each other and I love hearing all those gushy romantic stories of how my couples met and fell in love:)

We had such a beautiful day on campus and I’m really looking forward to their 2011 wedding!!
